Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

This is quick and easy. Without the cheese this is a white sauce
that is the base sauce for many recipes.
Make a little extra and have another dish that uses white or Alfredo sauce later in the week!

2 T. Butter or margarine
2 T. flour
1/2 t. salt
pepper to taste
1 c. milk
1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
1/8-1/4 garlic powder(optional)
1 t. onion flakes or 1 T. of fresh chopped onion (optional) If using this saute in butter before adding flour.

In a sauce pan, melt butter add salt and pepper, stir in flour with a wire whisk. It will make a paste. Slowly whisk in milk until mixture is smooth. Cook on medium-low heat  until sauce thickens. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and evenly distributed. Serve over noodles or in any other dish that calls for Alfredo Sauce.
